We are pleased to present another impressive facade design as part of the HALLENKUNST Mural Art Program. The new mural is located at Elisenstraße 15, at the corner of Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, in close proximity to Brühl Boulevard in Chemnitz.
The mural was created in a creative process between September 18th and 21st, 2025, and serves as a harmonious extension of the artistic and performative works of the artist, currently on display in the HALLENKUNST exhibition at the Markthalle in Chemnitz. The exhibition will be open until October 12th, 2025.
In her work, the artist HERA once again explores themes of childhood, innocence, and the variety of emotions associated with these experiences. “Laughter, togetherness, but also conflict. Everything is part of it, and in the end, we are all part of a game that spans across generations,” she explains. These thoughts are explored in the exhibition through the installation “Jaqueline,” which depicts a figure overwhelmed by the stresses of daily life.
The new mural on Elisenstraße not only adds to the HALLENKUNST Mural Art Program but is also a vibrant part of the Kreativachse Chemnitz – a district-connecting initiative that fosters exchange between the Brühl, Sonnenberg, and Straße der Nationen areas. Through the collaboration of artists, cultural creators, craftsmen, entrepreneurs, and social projects, this initiative makes a valuable contribution to sustainable urban development.
The creation of the mural was a collective process that was enthusiastically embraced by the local community. Many residents followed the progress on-site, and some, like a little girl who gave the mural’s face her eyes, actively contributed to the work.
The mural stands as a symbolic element of the connection between people, districts, and generations – a visible sign of the creative power and sustainable development of Chemnitz.
