This vibrant and colorful facade design by Prague artist Jan Kaláb features broad, sweeping stripes arranged in a gradient. The color palette, which the artist often uses in public spaces, ranges from dark reds transitioning into violets and blues, to bright yellows and oranges. The stripes flow in arcs across the facade at Johannisplatz 06 in Chemnitz, creating a dynamic and fluid appearance.
The colors are saturated and luminous, providing a strong contrast to the otherwise rather plain architecture of the building opposite Claudia 'MadC' Walde's mural. On the left side of Jan's mural, you can see how the design integrates into the glass facade, with the color transitions continuing across the window surfaces.

This mural gives the building a modern, artistic, and, above all, eye-catching appearance, designed to draw attention and enliven its surroundings.
Jan Kaláb from Prague is a renowned Czech artist who began his career as a graffiti artist in the 1990s under the pseudonyms "Cakes" and "Point." After his academic training at the Academy of Arts in Prague, he evolved his style from figurative graffiti art to abstract, geometric forms. He often uses vibrant colors, squares, and circles to explore concepts like depth and movement. Kaláb works in various media, including painting, sculptures, and large-format murals, and is particularly known for his pioneering three-dimensional graffiti sculptures. His works are exhibited internationally in galleries and at art fairs, and he also significantly contributed to the development of Prague's cultural space, "Trafačka."
As part of the HALLENKUNST group exhibition, Jan Kaláb will display a piece that corresponds to the mural, along with several other canvas works.

Dieses Mural ist in Zusammenarbeit und Austausch mit dem WALLZ Street Art Festival Pilsen 2025 (CZ) entstanden.
